Portland is bust…..

Checked into, well almost, our house in Portland yesterday, only to find out it didn’t have AC??? Couple that with a dog who NEEDS AC and a heat wave on the west coast and you guessed it:

ABORT!!!

Called the owner who was more than gracious to refund our money. Actually sent the house sitter over to take care of immediately. He was a real cool guy named Dave. We hit it off right away, and before you know it we’re chilling in the backyard/patio area getting to know each other. Didn’t stay long though.

Left and drove around the Hawthorne District for a bit, before picking up a pizza and salad (and eating it in the car of course) and heading to the coast.

We’ll be setting up camp somewhere in southern coastal WA today. Likely somewhere around Cape Disappointment area to do some whale watching and sitting. The later being something we have yet to really do on this trip. Looking forward to that!!!

We’ll be camping for the next 4-5 days all along the WA coast, before heading into Birch Bay, WA on the 11th, where we’ll be meeting up with rest (minus one for Trendy) of the Alabama Dream Team. BBy then we’ll have some more good pics and stories for your enjoyment. Hopefully, a whale sighting as well.
