Can you say Dungeness Spit?
Posted by Mac on August 10th, 2008 filed in UncategorizedWe sure can.
WOW!
Spent the last couple nights overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca at the Dungeness Spit campground.
Amazing!
Saw two whales, a bald eagle (got pics), some alien kelp, a few deer, and a snail. Our campground was about 50 ft from a trail that ran along the cliffs overlooking the water and the DS. From our vantage point we could see the Olympic Mountains to the west, Victoria Island (Canada) to the north, and Washington and the aforementioned DS to the east. The views were breathtaking. The campground was great. Spotty connnections are keeping this blogging to a minimum, but we’ll get back next week when we are in Birch Bay, WA, where we’ll be meeting up with most of the members of the Alabama Dream Team (sans one, Corporal Trendy).
We are officially at the the half way mark of this great adventure, and if the second half is anything like the first, we are in great shape.
Much love to everyone.
And a special shout out to Marquitta from her granddaughter, Fred.
Talk soon.

Ahhhh – Tuesday morning is upon the Midwest, where #5 and #6 of the Alabama Dream Team wait anxiously to tear one more page from #5′s Merriam Webster’s Word of the Day calendar, which will signal the arrival of long-waited Vacation Day #1. A quick glance at Yahoo weather indicates nothing but sun in Bellingham, WA, for the next five days, with highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s. The boarding passes are printed and the hiking boots are packed. Coincidentally – tomorrow’s Word of the Day is RELAX. The ADT is back! See you soon! -#6 (Still working on a real roadname)

Can I just say what a relief to find somebody who actually knows what theyre talking about on the net. You certainly know the best way to bring an problem to light and make it critical. More folks need to read this and comprehend this side in the story. I can’t believe you are not a lot more popular because you definitely have the gift.
