Mighty Diamond and a great night in Durango….

Hooked up with our good buddy Scotty yesterday. Actually he hooked us up. Not only did he have us picked up in a limo and brought into town to meet him for dinner, he picked up the tab for a great (Kelly says best meal she ever had) dinner at a place called Randy’s. Crab rangoon, lobster cakes, horseradish encrusted halibut and pork noisettes (with some mashed sweet potatoes with truffles) were mine and Fred’s picks. Really really good. We then proceeded to pub crawl through some of Durango’s finer establishments. The Summit (Scotty’s bar) where we took in some east coast hip hop-Louis Logic, then onto the Abbey Theater where we saw the Mighty Diamond. A great reggae band from Cali. Not too mention we didn’t have to pay the $20 cover!!!! Thanks again Scotty!! Then it was El Rancho, The Roadhouse and some other nice dive. We closed the evening off at the Summit doing jaeger shots off a a 4 man snow ski shot shooter.

Today, we ate lunch at Cypress Cafe. The owner of the house we are renting is also the owner of this restaurant. Real good lunch. I had the warm duck salad, which was great. Everyone agreed the potato soup was to die for. Afterwards, Kelly and I did some shopping before picking up a burger and heading back to the house. Tomorrow we are looking forward to some sushi for lunch, and then a dip in the Animas River with Seamus. Good chance we’ll be doing some tubing and or rafting. Seamus will be so happy.
